Palm Beach, FL — The Dr. Oz for Pennsylvania Senate campaign experienced a significant shake-up today after it announced it had terminated campaign chief Carrot Top after only three months on the job. Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Carrot Top Thompson, joined theĀ Senate campaign earlier this year, hoping to merge his unique entertainment brand with Dr. Oz’s unique brand of entertainment.
According to insiders, the relationship was rocky, to say the least, with Oz “not getting” Carrot Top’s unique brand of comedy and, more importantly, his leadership style. For his part, Carrot Top expressed anger over the abrupt termination.
“I’m over it. If Doctor Ounce is going to fire me without ever even meeting me, well I left some Snap ‘n Pops in unexpected places, let’s just leave it at that.”
Oz Spokesperson Bethany Millbright said they appreciated Carrot Top’s hard work, but they were embracing a new direction. Sources close to the Florida-run campaign, claimed that Dr. Oz’s latest “vegetable gaff” was Carrot Top’s doing.
“He [Carrot Top] kept calling it a ‘cruddite’ on the set, and no one was sure whether he was joking or not. It sounded like some kind of cough your kid might have. Certainly Dr. Oz didn’t think so and was pretty annoyed by it. So there’s a chance that he used the word ‘crudite’ on purpose to correct him. It was very awkward.”
Carrot Top has nothing to worry about as his Las Vegas show is back in production following a hiatus due to COVID restrictions. Even without the campaign income, he lives comfortably with approximately $2,000 in royalties every month coming in from that time he made fun of Pauly Shore.
“Well, people always want to put a label on you; they always want to compare you to something, you know? I just wanted to try somethng new during COVID shutdown, and it wasn’t a good fit.”
