Blossom, Alberta – While he is wildly popular in the USA, Senator Ted Cruz’s popularity is plummeting in many Canadian polls. Ted Cruz is running for President of the United States, despite being a Canadian. While it is not unusual for Canadians to head south looking for work think Neil Young, Mike Myers, Peter Jennings, John Candy, Dan Aykroyd, Tommy Chong, Ted Nugent it is a bit of a stretch for a Canadian to try to seize the highest office in the U.S. of A. Eligibility for office could be an issue for anyone born in Hawaii or outside the country.
The Canadian Broadcasting Company, in conjunction with CBS Canada and BBC Colonies Press, has just released its latest poll, and the results are sad indeed for Mr. Cruz. It appears that the homegrown Cruz has only a 3% favorability rating in most of the country. His unfavorability rating is at 98%. Compare this to Carly Fiorina’s 12% favorability ratings in Canada (Vancouver excepted).
We were interested to learn who makes up the 3% polled who actually like Canadian Ted Cruz. “Look, guys. Cruz is a champion of the people,” explains Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, “I try to follow everything he does very closely.” Ford goes on to explain that watching Cruz work is a learning experience unlike any other. “I learned to mix drinks watching the guy work. He also sparked my interest in flying F-14’s and Scientology. The little fella is a genius.”
First up Neil Young.
